Dr. John C. Martin
Dr. John C. Martin was elected the Lead Pastor of Victorville First Assembly on Sunday, September 10, 2006. He has the heart to reach people for Christ and develop fully devoted followers of God!
Prior to coming to Victorville First Assembly, he served for 6.5 years as the senior pastor of Calvary Christian Assembly in Seattle, Washington. Pastor John has also pastored in Coulee City, Washington, and served as the executive director of the Division of Church Ministries for the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God.
Dr. Martin earned his B.A. at Northwest University located in Kirkland, Washington, his Master of Religious Education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and his Doctor of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Under Pastor John’s leadership at Victorville First Assembly of God, the church has expanded from one to thirteen campus locations (Victorville, Adelanto, Apple Valley, Azusa, Boron, Colton, Hesperia, Irvine, Littlerock, Lucerne Valley, Palmdale, Tustin, and Victoryville). Six high desert campuses offer worship services in English and Spanish, while the Victorville campus also provides services in Indonesian, Korean, and American sign language. The church’s ministries have more than tripled in number and currently include the Feed My Sheep Food Bank, a School of Ministry, CityServe, and Victor Valley Christian School, which is now in its 50th year.
Dr. Martin also serves as the Board Chair at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa and teaches organizational leadership at a local university extension as adjunct faculty. He serves as an executive presbyter in the SoCal Network of the Assemblies of God. In addition, he coached the Victor Valley Christian School golf team for four years and had the privilege of leading the team to the league championship three of those years. He was voted Coach of the Year for the Agape League of Southern California twice.
He previously served on the Pastors Advisory Board and the School of Nursing Advisory Board at Northwest University. He taught as adjunct faculty at Northwest University. He also served as Sectional Presbyter for the Northwest Ministry Network. Pastor John was selected as the Citizen of the Year in Coulee City, Washington in 1996.
Pastor John and Ronda have been married for thirty-two years. They are blessed with two amazing children and a great son-in-law.
